About the Role

FanDuel is seeking a seasoned Data Science leader to drive strategic direction and vision for data science and machine learning within the FanDuel Data Organization. As Vice President of Data Science, you will lead a team of data scientists to identify business challenges and opportunities, and translate them into actionable, integrated, algorithm-driven solutions. You will champion a data-driven culture by fostering collaboration and common data literacy across data teams and business functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the Data Science team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data science strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and vision.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to define success metrics for data science products, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving measurable impact.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable requirements.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and confident in data science decisions.

Requirements
  • PhD preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in leading Data Science organizations.
  • 15+ years of Data Science experience, including designing, building, and deploying algorithms at scale.
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling data science teams in large, fast-paced technology-driven environments.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing large and complex projects involving multiple teams.
  • Proficiency in advanced analytics techniques and machine learning algorithms.
