Job Summary

To support the Registered Nurse in meeting patient needs, this role performs routine assistive tasks as an unlicensed assistive personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with nutrition and feeding needs, including setting up meal trays and assisting with drinking.
  • Support patients with ambulation needs, including dangling, walking, and implementing fall prevention measures under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Meet patients' elimination needs, including assisting with the bathroom, using a bedside commode, bedpan, or urinal.
  • Accurately monitor inputs and outputs, and complete and document patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, heart rate, and oxygenation via pulse ox or ETCO2.
  • Report abnormal values to the Registered Nurse and perform additional skilled duties, such as monitoring tech, drawing blood, or performing EKGs.
  • Assist patients with personal hygiene needs, including bathing, washing hair, brushing teeth and hair, and washing hands.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant program.
  • Previous nursing assistant, medical assistant, or related experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification or higher preferred.
