Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Learning and Development Coordinator to join our team at Archer Daniels Midland Company. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a premier training program to provide a highly effective, robust, motivated, and safe workforce passionate about continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Performance Excellence Team to develop, implement, document, and measure the efficiency of training.
  • Lead the collaboration and creating the CCD skill set assessment matrixes and coordination with other operations stakeholders.
  • Utilize established CCD 2.0 Tools, resources, templates to conduct Focused Training Initiatives and World Class Training Initiatives.
  • Coordinate with plant leadership to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities tied to plant losses and define Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and training measures of success.
  • Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions as required.
  • Mentor and develop unit/department employees to establish an inspiring & high performance culture.
  • Be champion and take full ownership of implementing standardized SMS pillar for Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 planning, coordination and implementing.
  • Support safe, reliable performance of duties by ensuring that units/departments follow Site, Corporate, Quality and regulatory standards related to operating procedures and MOCs (Management of Change).
  • Collaborate with Corporate L&D and peer L&D Coordinators to drive best practices and consistency of training across the site.
  • Responsible for the Site's new hire training and mentoring program 30,60,90 assessments.
  • Establish relationships and collaborate with OJT (on the job training) mentors, subject matter experts, procedure reviewers, training reviewers, engineers, managers/supervisors, and EHS staff to support the site's training activities.
  • Maintain, update and audit all training documents and procedures as required by changes, MOCs, CCD skill set matrixes and periodic reviews.
  • Responsible for the L&D matrix and providing weekly/by weekly updates of progress for the Cogen, Refinery, lab team and Crush plant.
  • Enhance skills to include adult learning methodologies and deliver one on one coaching and instruction, in the field training, casual small group training, and formal stand up instruction.
  • Other management support functions as determined by Plant Manager to assist in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
  • Aligning with the site leadership team on specific mitigation steps in bridging the training gaps identified.
  • Key stakeholder of the employee feedback/surveys, recognition and retention team.
Requirements
  • Degree preferred or relevant years of experience.
  • Ideally 2 or more years of experience in food manufacturing, with experience training and supporting food safety.
  • Spanish is a plus.
  • This job require high level proficiency in Microsoft skills daily working with Microsoft teams, share point, One note, Microsoft form, Excel, word, power point.
  • The ability to lead and motivate others and championing change.
  • Ability to create buy-in from team and continual persuasion and follow up.
  • The ability to assess training needs, translate job requirements into training requirements, and organize instructional material both during development and in presentations.
  • Proficiency in active listening, clear communication, training, coaching, and developing.
  • Ability to identify issues and problem solve.
  • Networking skills to help get all others to support Performance Excellence and training programs, including the ability to encourage and improve the level of engagement within their team.
  • Presentation skills suitable to all types of training (one-on-one coaching, in-the-field training, casual small group training, and formal stand-up instruction). A self-driven work ethic that is a positive role model for trainees.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to support the operations and management team as directed by the complex manager.
  • This job requires 70% Hands-on in the plant and 30% in the office.
