Position Title: Client Navigator

Reports To: Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) / Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Client Navigator at Highland Park Community Development Corp plays a pivotal role in orchestrating tenant programs and fostering connections with community service providers. This position involves assisting clients in securing access to external immigration legal counsel and managing essential pre-filing processes for various applications, including green cards, social security, SNAP, and other available benefits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Green Card Project Oversight:
    1. Collaborate with external immigration attorneys and recruitment teams to facilitate the initial steps of the three-part green card application process.
  2. Visa Case Management: Oversee and manage visa-related cases.
  3. Address Additional Immigration Matters: Tackle other immigration-related issues as they arise.
  4. Documentation of Policies and Processes: Create and maintain resources such as employee FAQs regarding green cards and immigration, and standardize communication protocols.
  5. Reporting and Metrics: Generate quarterly reports detailing visa holders and green card applicants.
  6. Data Validation: Ensure accuracy in immigration support documentation, including obtaining necessary signatures and drafting documents when required.
  7. Outreach for Bilingual Services: Conduct outreach to maintain service connections for bilingual clients.
  8. Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention services as needed and refer clients to educational, substance abuse, employment, childcare, mental health, and other necessary services.
  9. Additional Duties: Execute other responsibilities and special projects as assigned by management.

  1. Education & Experience:
    • Associate degree
    • Knowledge of U.S. immigration processes
    • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
    • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
    • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish)
    • Self-motivated with a focus on client service
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  2. Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in standard software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CARES, etc.)
  3. Language Proficiency: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and convey information clearly in various contexts.
