Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant Sr. will serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care. This role requires advanced knowledge of medical specialties and the ability to assess situations, bring them to resolution, and serve as a resource to the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient flow and review charts for current information
  • Ensure appropriate paperwork accompanies patients to the room
  • Enter pertinent history and act as a resource and cross-cover as needed
  • Perform job-related tasks with advanced knowledge and display an educated understanding of medical specialties
  • Observe Medical Assistants and Roomers for technical abilities and schedule training based on need
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, and other care providers
  • Room patients ensuring appropriate documents are with the patient
  • Perform clinical procedures, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for provider care, and observing and reporting patient signs and symptoms
  • Administer basic first aid and assist with patient examination/treatment
  • Operate required medical equipment and perform and collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by providers
  • Act as a liaison between support services and other clinical divisions
  • Obtain authorizations according to patient insurance policies for tests, therapies, and DME ordered by providers
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of one (1) year Medical Assistance experience required
  • Specialized training beyond high school preferred
  • Healthcare and customer service experience required
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • AHA BLS Certification within three months of employment and continued maintenance as required
