Position Summary:

Acuity Innovations is in search of a MILSATCOM Systems Evaluation Engineer to join our team. Applicants must be eligible to obtain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance.

We seek an innovative, creative, and highly motivated individual to support a MILSATCOM Program Office overseeing a diverse array of strategic and tactical MILSATCOM systems and infrastructure. The selected candidate will provide evaluation and terminal operations support for various strategic and tactical MILSATCOM systems and infrastructure.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) initiative offers cutting-edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Air Force's Space and Missiles System Center. We assist the Air Force in acquiring state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, ensuring global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. We are looking for technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative environment of small teams, utilizing the latest tools and methodologies to address the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, coordinate, and execute testing while providing terminal operations on various systems including the Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T), Air Force Command Post Terminal (AFCPT), and others.
  • Provide engineering and technician-level support for the aforementioned systems, including integration, communication circuit troubleshooting, and system-level anomaly resolution.
  • Identify and isolate software or hardware defects, evaluating system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues, and provide technical assessments to clients regarding these modifications.
  • Author and deliver technical documentation such as test plans, test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports.
  • Travel requirements: approximately 10%.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience with DoD/USAF test processes and documentation.
  • 3+ years of experience with MILSATCOM systems, associated hardware, and troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of DoD mission system sustainment.
  • Self-motivated, capable of autonomous on-the-job learning and improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certification (e.g., ASEP, CSEP, ESEP).
  • Operational Test experience supporting a DoD Operational Test Agency or Organization.
  • 3+ years of experience with MILSATCOM equipment and troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years of experience handling Communications Security (COMSEC) materials and devices.
  • Specific experience operating or maintaining systems such as FAB-T, AFCPT, TDSPP, MMS, and others.
  • Experience working in a competitive multi-contractor environment.
  • Ability to attain a TS/SCI clearance.

Clearance Requirements:

  • All selected applicants will undergo a background check and security investigation, and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
