Overview

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Sustainment Systems Engineer to join our team at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting sustainment activities for a diverse portfolio of strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide systems engineering and integration expertise in support of legacy space constellations, including Milstar, Advanced Enhanced High Frequency (AEHF), and Enhanced Polar System (EPS), as well as associated ground infrastructure, warfighter terminals, and software applications.
  • Support the transition of new MILSATCOM space systems from the acquisition community to operational stakeholders, with a focus on ensuring seamless integration and sustainment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, and develop solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including requirements specifications, interface control documents, and validation and verification plans.
  • Engage with government customers to advance projects and initiatives, and provide technical advisory assistance to ensure successful program execution.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships.
  • 4+ years of experience working in a highly competitive multi-contractor environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture/requirements definition/analysis, acquisitions, engineering/design, fielding/integration, and verification or analysis.
  • 4+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant systems integration experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience engaging government customers to advance projects and initiatives at varying degrees of complexity through engineering management.
Desired Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in a DoD program office with understanding of DoD acquisition processes and compliance with government instructions.
  • 6+ years of experience working with strategic & tactical MILSATCOM space systems (spacecraft, uplinks/downlinks, command & control, networks, and/or user communities).
  • Knowledge of Digital Engineering (DE) or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) applications.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications.
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Current International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) certification (i.e., ASEP, CSEP).
Clearance Requirements
  • Active DoD Secret clearance is required to start.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
