We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll/Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for accurately processing payroll and accounts payable transactions for multi-state locations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Calculate and process employee payroll accurately and on time using payroll software.
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports for payment, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Recordkeeping and Reconciliation: Maintain accurate records of payroll and accounts payable transactions, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including withholding, reporting, and remittance requirements.
- Process Improvement and Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and accounts payable processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience or accounting degree.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with payroll software (ADP, Paylocity, Paychex etc).
- Demonstrated understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Attention to details and accuracy.
- Ability to pivot and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate high level of integrity in handling sensitive payroll and financial information.
