Position Information:
The Nurse Aide I/Clinical Secretary - Patient Care Specialist provides critical support to patients, families, and professional staff to ensure efficient and customer-oriented service delivery.
This role actively supports and incorporates WakeMed's Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model by delivering patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
The four key concepts of PFCC are:
1. Dignity and Respect: Listen to and honor patient and family perspectives and choices.
2. Information Sharing: Communicate and share complete and unbiased information with patients and families in ways that are affirming and useful.
3. Participation: Patients and families are encouraged and supported in participating in care and decision-making at the level they choose.
4. Collaboration: Patients, families, and the Nurse Aide I/Clinical Secretary collaborate in the delivery of care.
The Nurse Aide I/Clinical Secretary - Patient Care Specialist understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, vision, values, and aspirational goals.
Our NICU:
The highly specialized Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery (NICU) offers 48 patient beds, including 26 single private rooms.
The NICU provides care for premature and critically ill babies, admitting more than 600 infants each year.
A highly skilled neonatology staff provides family-centered care for infants with life-threatening or potentially life-threatening disorders, requiring constant monitoring and immediate nursing and medical intervention in an environment that optimizes neurological growth and infant outcomes.
Requirements:
1. Experience: 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.
2. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; or college courses in nurse aide required.
3. Licensure/Certification: Nurse Aide I required.
Work Schedule:
Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Weekend and Call Requirements:
As needed.
