Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing for all services rendered by True Care. You will work closely with the Finance Department to resolve outstanding billing issues and maintain compliance with industry regulations.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Generate weekly invoices for services rendered using online portals and electronic resources.
  • Review all billing information for accuracy and submit it to the appropriate parties.
  • Process payments received and relay pertinent information to relevant departments.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the agency's billing cycle and follow up on all claims to ensure timely payment.
  • Run reports to identify potential discrepancies and ensure billing accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to resolve outstanding billing issues.
  • Investigate denied claims, procure necessary documentation, and submit appeals for re-processing.
  • Communicate with internal departments regarding changes in service requirements based on payments or denials.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and agency policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; a degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior billing experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 codes, revenue codes, and units.
  • Experience with ePACES is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette.
  • Proficiency in basic office software applications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, auditing skills, and the ability to review documents for specific information.
  • Patience and a calm demeanor when handling challenging situations.
  • A positive and upbeat attitude.
