Key Responsibilities- Weekly Billing and Electronic Billing: Conduct weekly billing and electronic billing for assigned contracts, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Billing Information Review: Closely review all billing information for accuracy and submit all billing information to the correct parties.
- Payment Processing: Process payments received and relay pertinent information to the appropriate parties as required.
- Billing Cycle Management: Ensure accuracy by routinely running reports to locate potential discrepancies and maintain the agency's weekly billing cycle.
- Claim Denial Resolution: Investigate denied claims and procure necessary documentation to provide to the contracts for re-processing denials.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work in a collaborative manner with the Finance Department to resolve outstanding billing issues and communicate with appropriate departments to advise change in service requirements based on payments or denials.
- Adherence to Regulations: Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and follow agency policies and procedures.
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent, or degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: Prior billing experience, knowledge of ICD 10 codes, understanding of revenue codes and units, and work experience in accounting.
- Skills: Excellent customer service skills, phone etiquette, computer literacy, and working knowledge of basic office software technology.
- Personal Qualities: Extremely detail-oriented, good auditing eye, patience, and calm demeanor to deal with difficult scenarios, and a positive and upbeat attitude.
