Position Overview:
Under general supervision, the Surgical Advanced Practice Provider is accountable for the clinical management of patients, adhering to the standards set by the hospital and regulatory agencies at both state and national levels.

Work Schedule:
This role is structured as a part-time position, requiring 24 hours of service per week.

Experience Requirements:
Preferred candidates will possess at least one year of acute care experience within a Surgical ICU, step-down unit, or surgical services.

Essential Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities to evaluate patient conditions and execute suitable interventions.
- Capacity to function effectively under varying levels of stress and adapt to changes in the work environment.

Licensure and Certifications:
- Must hold a valid license as a Physician Assistant or Adult Nurse Practitioner from the Maryland Board of Medical Examiners.
- Required certifications must be maintained.
- Completion of the 'Healthcare Provider' CPR course is mandatory.

Physical and Working Conditions:
- The role involves medium to heavy physical demands, with prolonged periods of walking and standing.
- Work is typically conducted in a standard patient care environment, which may expose the practitioner to excessive noise, dust, and temperature variations.
- There is a potential exposure to communicable diseases.

Conditions of Employment:
- Ongoing maintenance of licensure and certifications is required.
- Compliance with continuing medical education (CME) requirements is essential.
- Adherence to contractual obligations is expected.

Patient Safety:
The employee must possess a thorough understanding of patient safety protocols as they relate to job responsibilities.

Patient Population Competency:
Demonstrates the ability to deliver care that meets the specific needs of various age groups, as permitted by licensure.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports to the Surgery APP Lead and Senior Surgery APP.
