Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at MTS Systems. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for calibrating, maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex computer-controlled servo-hydraulic and electro-mechanical test systems at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage customer relationships and business activities to optimize customer satisfaction, efficiency of operation, revenue generation, margin levels, and service contract performance.
  • Diagnose equipment problems to the major sub-sections of the system (controllers, hydraulics, data acquisition systems, transducers, grips, fixtures, etc.) and restore equipment operations.
  • Perform calibrations relevant to assigned customer base independently.
  • Coordinate and conduct installation and maintenance activities.
  • Implement the operational requirements of the MTS Corporate and Field Service Quality System.
  • Assist in supporting service sales efforts by being knowledgeable of and understanding strategic goals relative to growth, margin, and marketing.
  • Maintain service documentation in the requested format for all service activities delivered at customer sites as assigned.
  • Manage all assigned assets according to company policy (automobile, financial instruments, and service equipment).
  • Maintain current knowledge and training in MTS technology and products.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical discipline with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • AA(Vo-tech) degree in a technical field or equivalent military training with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of PID Controllers, ability to troubleshoot to board level, and experience with hydraulics/pneumatics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and basic MS-Office computer and software skills.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of personal discipline, problem-solving, and analytical business skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and experience.
