Job Overview

LHH Recruitment Solutions is in search of a proficient Medical Coding Quality Analyst to enhance our team. This position involves conducting both retrospective and prospective evaluations of medical charts to guarantee precise risk adjustment reporting. You will be responsible for validating the accuracy, completeness, specificity, and appropriateness of diagnosis codes reported by providers, based on the documentation available in medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough retrospective and prospective evaluations of medical charts to ensure precise risk adjustment reporting.
  • Confirm the accuracy and completeness of diagnosis codes derived from medical records.
  • Analyze medical records to identify and document accurate diagnosis codes in accordance with CMS HCC categories.
  • Detect patterns in provider coding and documentation, working collaboratively on intervention strategies.
  • Support special initiatives, including risk mitigation assessments.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on risk adjustment methodologies and diagnosis coding.
  • Assist in the execution of activities related to regulatory changes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated capability to conduct accurate and comprehensive chart evaluations for risk adjustment.
  • In-depth understanding of Official ICD-9-CM/ICD-10 Coding Guidelines.
  • Proven analytical skills to identify issues, formulate solutions, and implement effective actions.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare systems operations, including reimbursement models and coding standards for both governmental and commercial products.
  • Expertise in risk adjustment, coding, and documentation requirements.
  • Associate degree in Healthcare or a related discipline, along with three years of experience in clinical coding or auditing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Coding Certification (CCA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-P) is mandatory.

Compensation: $26.00 to $32.00 per hour
