Position Overview for RN Charge - Cardiac Care
This role involves overseeing the operations and activities of a specific department within the cardiac unit. The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for coordinating the scheduling of nursing staff and serving as a key liaison for both internal and external stakeholders, including medical personnel and hospital administration. This position is also tasked with developing and implementing strategies to meet regulatory standards and providing training and mentorship to nursing staff.
Essential Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Proficient in managing departmental budgets and implementing effective changes. Capable of making independent decisions in high-pressure situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Overseeing other healthcare team members.
Qualifications for the RN Charge - Cardiac Care Role:
Minimum Education: Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Minimum Experience: At least two years of relevant clinical nursing experience, with a minimum of two years in a Level III NICU setting for Level II EQ only.
Preferred Experience: Management experience with a minimum of two years in a supervisory role. Certification in a specialty area is preferred.
Required Certifications/Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Arizona. CPR certification. ACLS certification as applicable by department.
Required Training: For specific departments, additional certifications may be required within designated timeframes.
