Job Description

At Stellar Industries, Inc, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Process Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing optimal manufacturing processes and methods to meet product specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Development: Develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Manufacturing Launch: Coordinate the manufacturing launch for new or revised products, ensuring timely and successful production.
  • Engineering Instructions: Develop and maintain engineering instructions using manufacturing engineering practices.
  • Quotations and Procurement: Prepare quotations for labor, tooling, and equipment to support business unit requirements.
  • Design Reviews: Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews to ensure product design meets manufacturing requirements.
  • Document Evaluation: Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specs, and other documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Tooling and Equipment: Design and procure tools and equipment to support manufacturing processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Evaluate and solve production problems to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Training and Development: Train assemblers or conduct training to introduce new processes and improve manufacturing skills.
  • Prototyping: Prepare and manufacture prototypes as required, utilizing the principles of concurrent engineering.
Requirements:
  • Education: Two-year trade school degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Skills: Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel. Experience with AutoCAD and Solidworks. Ability to measure accurately using machine tools. Familiarity with Epicor (ERP) applications. Excellent interpersonal and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, to practical situations.
  • Initiative and Teamwork: Must have initiative, be willing to work independently and as part of a team, possess a strong desire to learn, enjoy computing and technical design, and be practical and creative.
  • Availability: Must be available to work a minimum of 30 hours per week for at least 8 weeks.
