Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with production control to optimize manufacturing workflows and meet delivery deadlines.
- Design and implement tooling layouts and concepts, including datum structures on intended machines.
- Investigate and resolve nonconforming parts, and participate in Material Review Board actions.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas to enhance manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
- Complete quotes for projects requiring various processing disciplines, including shot peen, coating, and brazing.
- Set up and operate machines or processes to process jobs according to drawings and specifications.
- Ensure projects meet or exceed cost, schedule, quality, and customer specification requirements.
- Read and understand customer part blueprints and drawings within the ME responsibility.
- Complete 1st article data to ensure process or operation readiness for release to operators.
- Train operators on setup procedures and machining processes.
- Document and establish standards for engineering changes and improvements.
- Provide training resources and instructions for machinists.
- Participate in ongoing conversations with engineers, supervisors, and machinists to resolve issues related to processes, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Conceive and design complex work-holding fixtures and gages.
- Assist the Quality Department in identifying and correcting programming issues that lead to nonconformances.
- Provide time studies, router, and job cost reviews to ensure standards are up to date.
- Create and maintain documentation as required.
- Technical degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Technology, Engineering, or related field, or 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Practical experience using CAD/CAM software, preferably Siemens NX or SolidWorks.
- Working knowledge of machine tools and their capabilities.
- Desire to develop automation for various machine tools and part handling systems.
- Prior experience with complex shapes and their work-holding requirements.
- Prior experience with super alloy metals is preferred.
- Perform under AS9100 standards.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills.
- Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests.
- Prioritize tasks and plan, organize, and monitor work of self and others.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to speak effectively before customers and/or employees.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Will climb stairs multiple times per day.
- Will sit, stand, or walk distances for up to the entire duration of shift.
- Will lift, push, or pull 35 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and material.
