KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary function of this role is to assess business workflows, identify technological solutions, and create implementation strategies that support various business program areas.

Business workflow assessment typically involves a thorough examination of operational processes, controls, and limitations, focusing on necessary modifications or recognized opportunities. These modifications may relate to new regulations, updated security protocols, evolving technology frameworks, efficiency enhancements, or changing business landscapes. This role necessitates frequent, intricate communication with business leaders and subject matter experts. Responsibilities may include business process modeling, documentation of procedures, customer journey analysis, and flowchart development.

Identifying technological solutions entails researching industry products, peer implementations, enterprise standards, and agency technical frameworks. The suitability and availability of solutions are often influenced by statewide contracts, security constraints, budgetary considerations, and architectural compliance.

Implementation planning generally involves crafting business cases, project charters, and other relevant project documentation. This work often occurs in collaboration with internal partners such as agency program sections, procurement offices, and project management offices, as well as external partners like enterprise information services and cybersecurity teams.

The Business Analyst will also collaborate with senior analysts to assist in strategic planning, disaster recovery assessments, and oversight evaluations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

(a) Five (5) years of experience in information systems, including:

Business workflow analysis, developing business cases, and creating processes for systems. Experience in application support and documentation is essential. Must be adept at facilitating requirements gathering and possess vendor management experience. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required, along with a proven ability to coordinate process design from problem identification to system implementation. A CBAP certification is preferred or the willingness to obtain one.

---OR---

(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in a related field;

---AND---

Three (3) years of experience in information systems, including:

Business workflow analysis, developing business cases, and creating processes for systems. Experience in application support and documentation is essential. Must be adept at facilitating requirements gathering and possess vendor management experience. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required, along with a proven ability to coordinate process design from problem identification to system implementation. A CBAP certification is preferred or the willingness to obtain one.

---OR---

(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

---AND---

One (1) year of experience in information systems, including:

Business workflow analysis, developing business cases, and creating processes for systems. Experience in application support and documentation is essential. Must be adept at facilitating requirements gathering and possess vendor management experience. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required, along with a proven ability to coordinate process design from problem identification to system implementation. A CBAP certification is preferred or the willingness to obtain one.
