Lab Manager, Analytical Sciences Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Manager, Analytical Sciences Operations to join our team at AmplifyBio. As a key member of our Analytical Sciences Department, you will be responsible for leading a team of scientists and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our analytical laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of scientists and oversee the execution of analytical studies in compliance with federal regulations, client requirements, and company procedures.
- Develop and implement departmental staffing plans, staff performance management, and career development programs.
- Monitor and track departmental study execution metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with other department managers and supervisory personnel to ensure preclinical study execution and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain assay procedures and SOPs, and ensure their implementation and updating as required.
- Support the development, qualification, and validation of assays and execution of preclinical studies.
- Train, mentor, and lead junior scientists, and ensure staff proficiency and efficient lab workflow.
- Manage lab inventory, samples, and equipment, and ensure their proper handling and tracking.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations, goal setting, and evaluation, hiring, training, resourcing, and salary planning for personnel.
- Ensure the laboratory maintains proper health and safety procedures and implements continuous improvement measures.
- Minimum BS degree in Biology, Immunology, or related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in analytical laboratory operations.
- Strong working knowledge of performance and operations management, regulations, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Outstanding leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
