Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at Ynot Italian Inc in Virginia Beach, VA. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve departmental objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Perform all duties of the departmental positions you supervise.
  2. Understand and adhere to all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs.
  3. Directly supervise and coordinate all departmental operations.
  4. Ensure that guests feel welcome and receive responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
  5. Produce departmental labor schedules to handle anticipated business activity and ensure labor cost objectives are met.
  6. Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility, and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
  7. Assist the Owner in employment, discipline, and termination decisions.
  8. Continually strive to develop staff in all areas, including technical and customer service-related skills.
  9. Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules, in an organized and timely manner.
  10. Ensure that all equipment is maintained in a clean and excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant's preventative maintenance programs.
  11. Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant's receiving policies and procedures.
  12. Maintain a high level of sanitation and cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant, ensuring that proper sanitation and food safety procedures, as defined by applicable local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, are implemented, maintained, and followed by all employees at all times.
  13. Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and assist the General Manager in administering prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules, and procedures.
  14. Perform any other job functions as necessary to ensure continued smooth operation of the business.
  15. Assist the General Manager in conducting periodic meetings with employees to discuss and/or correct problem areas or areas of concern.
Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Owner.

External Relationships

Interacts regularly with customers.

Qualifications and Credentials

21 years of age with prior restaurant management experience preferred.

Food safety certified.

Completes any required Manager's State Certification.

To perform the essential functions of this position, the incumbent regularly employs the following competencies, physical and/or sensory abilities, and skills:

  • Able to see clearly (with or without glasses) to read, interpret, and understand menus, written instructions, bank drafts, etc.
  • Able to hear and speak effectively.
  • Frequently stands for long durations.
  • Able to walk while carrying and balancing trays of food.
  • Able to bend, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds.
Computer Skills
  • Basic PC and data entry skills highly preferred.
Working Conditions

Supervisors perform their duties in the same environments as the employees they are supervising.

Work Schedule

Supervisors work full-time schedules. Work schedules may vary and will involve day and nighttime hours during the week and on weekends.

Job Type

Full-time.

Pay

$50,000.00 per year.

10 hour shift, 12 hour shift, day shift, holidays, Monday to Friday, night shift, on call, weekends.

Education

High school or equivalent (Preferred).

Experience

Restaurant Experience: 5 years (Preferred).License/Certification

Driver's License (Preferred).
