Position Overview

Your Role

As our League Operations Manager, you will be more than just the conductor of on-field activities. This position transcends typical game management; it involves shaping the story of a burgeoning sports league, fostering community spirit, and crafting an unforgettable experience for both players and spectators. This is not a conventional role; it offers an exhilarating journey filled with endless creative opportunities and potential for growth.

Key Responsibilities

League Management:
  • Oversee the daily operations of BBA Bubbleball league events, ensuring effective execution and compliance with the standards you will establish.
  • Coordinate logistics with referees, teams, and venues to ensure smooth operations for league games and tournaments.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all inquiries and issues related to the league.
Player Engagement:
  • Encourage a sense of community among league participants, promoting camaraderie and sportsmanship.
  • Implement strategies to enhance player satisfaction and engagement throughout the season.
  • Address player feedback and concerns, striving for continuous improvement of the league experience.
Event Planning and Coordination:
  • Collaborate with the events team to plan and execute league tournaments, championships, and special events.
  • Ensure effective promotion of all league events to maximize participation and fan engagement.
  • Oversee the scheduling of games, venues, and equipment for league matches.
Rules and Regulations:
  • Develop and enforce league rules and regulations to ensure fair play and sportsmanship.
  • Communicate updates and changes to rules clearly and promptly to teams, coaches, and referees.
Partnerships and Sponsorships:
  • Work closely with the Sponsorships & Media Sales team to capitalize on sponsorship opportunities during league events.
  • Facilitate the activation of sponsorships at league games and events.
Budget Oversight:
  • Manage the league budget, ensuring financial objectives are achieved.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining the quality of the league experience.
Qualifications

Essential Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Event Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in sports league management, ideally within an emerging sports or recreational league.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple events simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with players, coaches, and sponsors.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to introduce innovative ideas to enhance the league experience.
  • Familiarity with the San Diego sports community is advantageous.
