Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Third Class Engineer to support operations in government facilities. This role involves overseeing the maintenance, operation, and repair of heating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee site operations using the Building Management Control System (BMCS).
  • Ensure the efficient performance of equipment during assigned shifts.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical systems, including lubrication and leak testing.
  • Monitor auxiliary systems and coordinate with senior engineers to optimize equipment performance.
  • Check and maintain steam pressure reducing stations and other critical components.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel.
  • Work Schedule: Day shift, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid DC 3rd Class Engineer License.
  • TS/SCI security clearance with a Polygraph is required.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of HVAC systems is essential.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment and machinery is necessary.
  • Capable of interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Practical knowledge of chiller plant operations and building air systems is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and push up to 100 lbs.
  • Extensive standing and walking are required.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility are essential.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching are necessary.
