Quality Assurance Engineer I

As a Quality Assurance Engineer I, you will be responsible for developing, modifying, and implementing quality standards and evaluation methods for products and processes. Your role will involve providing statistical insights for quality enhancement by determining and applying testing methodologies and criteria. You will coordinate and oversee technical evaluations, analyses, and related data acquisition processes to ensure that quality objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate quality performance utilizing statistical and analytical techniques.
2. Create and execute methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and assessing the precision, reliability, and accuracy of products, processes, and production equipment.
3. Develop and implement quality systems, inspection plans, and statistical plans for proposals.
4. Ensure compliance of project and process control documentation with established requirements.
5. Analyze costs associated with non-compliance and determine accountability for products or materials that fail to meet standards.
6. Facilitate the timely processing of nonconforming materials and assist in the disposition process through participation in failure analysis and corrective action investigations.
7. Collaborate with customers and suppliers regarding quality performance and corrective actions.
8. Conduct supplier audits and surveys to verify compliance and effectiveness of the quality system.
9. Design and specify inspection and testing mechanisms, conducting quality assurance tests as necessary.
10. Participate in product development teams to review engineering changes and manufacturing methods related to product quality.
11. Develop sampling plans and devise procedures for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
12. Maintain and analyze statistical process controls and trends, conducting necessary tests for process capability analysis.
13. Enhance products and processes through continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles.
14. Prepare comprehensive reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, providing actionable recommendations.
15. Stay updated with professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in industry networks.
16. Ensure compliance with legal requirements by studying existing legislation and advising management on necessary actions.
17. Share expertise with colleagues and mentor new employees, contributing to team efforts as needed.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred. Certification from the American Society for Quality is desirable.
