Job Summary

The Clinical Director is a key leadership position at LHC Group, responsible for overseeing and directing the patient care operations of our home care facilities. This includes:

  • Coordinating and completing assigned projects to effectively support the immediate and long-range objectives of the company.
  • Oversight of the eligibility of patients referred to home care services, planning for the services to be provided to patients, and supervising their total home health care.
  • Implementing and maintaining administrative practices, agency philosophy, goals, and policies that assure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Enhancing the profitability of the agency.
  • Providing motivation and retention of a qualified staff and assuring the quality of services delivered.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Director will:

  • Supervise and ensure high-quality patient care services throughout the episode of care, including referral coordination, patient needs assessment, and plan of care development and updates.
  • Communicate effectively with staff to ensure they are informed through staff conferences and mandatory in-services.
  • Supervise patient care to ensure the delivery of safe, economical, and efficient patient care, adhering to relevant standards of accepted nursing and medical practice, federal and state regulations, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Monitor and assess employee performance regularly, utilizing the clinician scorecard and performance evaluation tool.
  • Ensure that only qualified personnel are hired, overseeing licensure verification, certification, and credentialing as required by law and policy.
  • Assist with staff recruitment to ensure adequate staffing is maintained, operating within the staffing model.
  • Serve as a member of the Management Team and QAPI Team, implementing Performance Improvement Projects and annual strategic agency planning.
  • Participate in annual strategic agency planning, ensuring follow-up on any required action plans.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with the medical director, approving invoices and submitting supporting documentation for timely payment.
  • Drive Operational metrics, including productivity, VBP, SVP, ACH, claims alert, late EMS, unverified services, orders audit, and agency financial statements, to ensure the organization meets company goals related to operational efficiency, growth, quality, and finances.
  • Act as Emergency Coordinator in the absence of the Executive Director/Alternate Executive Director, ensuring appropriate plan execution.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all customers, representing the agency and ensuring timely and thorough investigation of concerns voiced by patients, caregivers, and referral sources.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Current RN licensure in the state of Oregon.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • One year of supervisory and/or management experience in a home health setting or related healthcare setting.
  • Current Driver's License and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
