Job Title: Assistant Director, National Program and Outreach

Overview:

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Assistant Director, National Program and Outreach. This role will be responsible for building and leading a Technology and Foreign Policy Outreach initiative, working closely with the National Program and CFR's Cross-Cutting Initiatives on China, Technology, Climate, and RealEcon.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive outreach strategy to cultivate relationships with the technology community and develop programming on technology-related events.
  • Collaborate with the National Program and Cross-Cutting Initiatives to support the China, Technology, Climate, and RealEcon initiatives.
  • Design and execute the Young Professionals Series for Technologists on the West Coast and across the country.
  • Audience development: identify new and diverse voices in tech across the United States to grow and connect the Outreach community.
  • Plan and execute in-person and virtual programming featuring issues at the nexus of technology and foreign policy.
  • Manage communications and resource dissemination efforts, including maintaining Outreach webpages, email campaigns, and social media feeds.
  • Track metrics and conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis for reporting purposes and strategic decisions.
Qualifications:
  • At least five years of experience working in or with the tech industry, particularly on the West Coast and in C-suite engagement on audience and market development, partnerships, international relations, government, or community engagement.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a positive and flexible attitude who can work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
  • Strong verbal and written skills; ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences.
  • Strong skills in basic office technology, data analysis, social media, and content management skills.
