Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Planning data-driven, standards-aligned, and differentiated units, lessons, and activities;
  • Delivering clear, accurate, and rigorous lessons with a range of instructional and formative assessment techniques;
  • Establishing and maintaining a supportive, productive, and positive learning environment with strong classroom management practices;
  • Monitoring and communicating about student progress while engaging in continuous reflection, adjustment, and professional development.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience accelerating measurable student learning in urban schools;
  • Training and/or experience with Culturally Relevant Education;
  • Minimum of two years' successful classroom teaching experience;
  • Prior demonstration of exemplary attendance;
  • New York State teacher certification in their subject area, or qualification to obtain it by the first date of employment;
  • A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5 for certification.

  • A competitive salary range of $53,000, with opportunities for increase based on experience and education;
  • The opportunity to teach in our Summer School Programs, receiving an hourly rate of $42.69;
  • The possibility of participating in the District's Urban Fellowship Program, which provides additional support and resources for teachers of color or those with experience in urban education.
