Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatics Coordinator II to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Dayton. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that requires a strong background in aquatic programming and supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision and Training: Assist in the supervision of swim lessons and staff trainings, ensuring that safety procedures and best practices are followed.
  • Program Development: Assist in the development and implementation of aquatic programs, including swim lessons and other aquatic activities.
  • Staff Management: Assist in the management of aquatic staff, including scheduling, training, and evaluation.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to members and program participants.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with program participants, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year college degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, or related field preferred.
  • Certifications: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and YMCA Lifeguard certification required; YUSA YSL v6 Instructor certification preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year or more of related lifesaving experience preferred; 1 year minimum of supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of pool chemistry and maintenance; computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications; ability to learn internal YMCA software.
