Position SummaryThe Manufacturing Process Specialist plays a crucial role in conducting various engineering analyses, overseeing engineering initiatives, and implementing process enhancements within operations. This encompasses evaluating machine capabilities, modifying equipment, and devising solutions to production challenges related to materials, processes, and procedures to optimize efficiency and yield.
This position will involve collaboration between our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee engineering projects from conception to completion, including initiating concepts, developing designs, estimating costs, coordinating installations, troubleshooting start-ups, and creating operational and maintenance manuals.
- Investigate and analyze new materials, equipment, processes, and engineering practices to enhance performance.
- Prepare engineering calculations, estimates, surveys, statistics, and analyses.
- Manage drawing files, CAD file organization, process documentation, and technical literature for library use.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of capital project procedures, adhering to company directives and guidelines.
- Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new equipment operations or modifications to existing equipment.
- Contribute as the engineering resource on project teams.
- Assess environmental conditions and practices, developing relevant procedures, programs, and projects.
- Research, justify, and implement necessary solutions.
- Act as a company representative in discussions with government agencies regarding environmental matters.
- Coordinate training and evaluate system changes to ensure compliance.
- Document and adhere to local county procedures and policies, managing paperwork and training to maintain compliance.
- Support other departments by providing technical training and guidance for improved operations.
- Effectively represent the company's interests when engaging with external contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.
- Communicate effectively with operational leaders regarding related work through scheduling and meetings.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and GMP standards at Rich's facilities.
- Assist in prototype construction follow-up with external vendors.
- Secure quotes and expedite materials and deliveries for other departments as needed.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures related to engineering and safety.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and Project.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Background in capital/project management.
- Able to integrate existing methods with new innovations to effectively resolve production issues.
- Capable of arranging schedules for immediate corrective actions or support.
Preferred:
- Experience in the food manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge of PLC programming.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Understanding of efficient and safe manufacturing operations, including product and associate safety, OSHA standards, product quality, and cost control.
