Position Overview

The Assistant Project Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager throughout all stages of contract execution at government commissary locations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the management of operations and personnel to guarantee effective and profitable fulfillment of all contract obligations, adhering to established timelines and budgetary constraints.
  2. In the absence of the Project Manager, exercise independent judgment while following government contract stipulations and implementing company policies and objectives that influence operational functions.
  3. Oversee and guide department supervisors and staff, including client workers.
  4. Provide training to employees relevant to their roles, focusing on specific government regulations and standards.
  5. Ensure that all tasks performed comply with government Performance Work Standards and Task Analyses.
  6. Establish a Quality Assurance System to deliver constructive feedback to subordinate staff and senior management.
  7. Complete all required reporting accurately and within designated timeframes.
  8. Conduct job performance evaluations alongside government representatives, initiating corrective measures as necessary.
  9. Promptly inform supervisors of any deficiencies identified by government inspectors.
  10. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of contract requirements.
  11. Foster collaborative relationships with government managers and participate in management discussions as requested.
  12. Immediately notify the Project Manager of any government-directed changes to contract specifications.

Supervisory Duties

  • This position supervises a team of 10-25 employees.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • An associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution is preferred.
