Purchasing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team at Wabash. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials and services to support our production requirements.
Your Responsibilities:- Issue purchase orders to support production requirements, modifying as needed to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Run past due reports and respond accordingly to material requirements, ensuring that our production schedule is met.
- Receive and confirm orders in SAP once acknowledged by suppliers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Expedite orders for short lead time or replacement materials, communicating with suppliers to resolve any issues.
- Confirm pricing and update SAP information records, ensuring that our procurement process is efficient and effective.
- Build relationships with suppliers, working collaboratively to negotiate prices and terms that benefit both parties.
- Meet with suppliers and participate in sourcing and cost savings activities with Central Purchasing, identifying opportunities to improve our procurement process.
- Resolve invoice issues, working closely with our accounting team to ensure that all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned, contributing to the success of our team and the company as a whole.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, supply chain management, or a related field.
- 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of procurement processes and procedures.
- 2 years' experience in purchasing or material-related experience, with a proven track record of success in sourcing and purchasing materials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
- Leadership training, with the ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve goals and objectives.
