Job Overview

Funky Buddha Management LLC is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead Packaging Specialist to oversee our packaging operations. Our company is renowned for its innovative approach to brewing, utilizing high-quality, food-centric ingredients to create exceptional craft beers.

Role Summary

The Lead Packaging Specialist will play a crucial role in managing all facets of the packaging process, ensuring adherence to quality standards and operational efficiency. This position requires a proactive, responsible individual with a strong commitment to excellence in the craft beer industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain all packaging equipment effectively.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all packaging tasks.
  • Uphold the quality standards established by Funky Buddha.
  • Conduct cleaning in place (CIP) on all filling machinery.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance on packaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair packaging-related equipment as needed.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Adapt to changing business needs and daily production goals.
  • Support management in scheduling team breaks and lunches.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding production updates.
  • Log daily production metrics and report findings.
  • Facilitate training for new packaging team members.
  • Contribute to the development of SOPs and process improvements.
  • Operate forklifts and assist in inventory management of packaging materials.
  • Complete special assignments and provide regular updates to supervisors.
  • Promote adherence to brewery policies and procedures among team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Flexible availability for various shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Experience in a high-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in beverage packaging.
  • Proficiency with fillers and conveyor systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A strong passion for craft beer and its quality.
  • Advanced knowledge of packaging operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of quality assurance methods and laboratory operations.
  • Prior experience in packaging, bottling, and racking.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience.
  • Forklift operation certification.

Physical Requirements:

The successful candidate must be able to perform essential job functions, including:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
  • Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
