Job Description

Funky Buddha Management LLC, a leading craft brewery, is seeking a highly skilled Packaging Lead to join its team. As a key member of the production team, the Packaging Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of packaging operations, ensuring the highest quality standards are met, and contributing to the company's continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in all packaging processes, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for packaging operations.
  • Collaborate with the production team to maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to OSHA and company guidelines.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on packaging equipment, troubleshoot issues, and assist with repairs.
  • Train new Packaging Associates and assist in their development.
  • Monitor and record packaging raw materials inventory, assist with ordering, and maintain accurate records.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and minimize product loss.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment as needed.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining quality assurance standards.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced production environment, preferably in a brewery or beverage packaging setting.
  • Experience with fillers and conveyance systems, as well as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong passion for beer and beer quality, with an advanced understanding of packaging operations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of quality assurance methods and techniques, laboratory operations, and basic knowledge of chemistry and biology.
  • Prior packaging, bottling, and racking experience, as well as mechanical experience and aptitude.
  • Forklift operation or certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Heavy physical work, including climbing stairs, climbing into tanks, pulling hoses, etc.
  • Ability to work in wet, hot, and cold conditions, as well as consistently loud environments.
