About the Role

Morrison Hershfield Corporation is seeking a skilled Mechanical Commissioning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Integrated Engineering Design group, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful commissioning of complex building systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in all phases of commissioning projects, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of work.
  • Perform engineering design reviews, prepare commissioning test procedures and reports, direct client-site testing, and manage the training of on-site staff.
  • Prepare equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures, develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and methods of procedures (MOPs), and create comprehensive commissioning documentation.
  • Develop and maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tools to track commissioning projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, lists of deficiencies, equipment operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning.
  • Participate in commissioning activity meetings and interface with construction contractors, vendors, and testing technicians.
  • Conduct tests and compile all testing procedure results, and develop and administer functional tests for various building MEP systems.
  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of commissioning services for both new and existing buildings.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an engineering service delivery organization/and or consulting/design environment with proven work-related experience in MEP systems.
  • Data Center/Mission Critical Experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working on a mission critical facility construction site a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or accredited college or university a plus.
  • EIT a plus.
  • LEED AP accreditation a plus.
  • CXA, AABC, ACG certification a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High competency in technical writing, systems development, and utilization.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of MEP systems and controls design, installation, and operation a plus.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to present complex technical information to a wide audience.
