Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef in preparing all food items for the hotel outlets, based on standardized recipes while complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Help the Executive Chef order food from suppliers and assist in the training of new culinary staff members.
  • Coordinate and expedite the kitchen staff to accelerate service and ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
  • Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles.
  • Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
Requirements:
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Minimum 2 years cooking experience, preferably high volume.
  • Food Handlers certification required.
Working Conditions:

The Lead Cook will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with moderate temperatures and controlled by hotel environmental systems. The position requires standing and exerting well-paced mobility for up to four hours in length, as well as lifting up to 45 lbs. as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership capability and customer relations skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self-driven and able to effectively deal with internal and external customers, the Lead Cook will be responsible for maintaining a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Azul Hospitality standards.
