Laboratory Operations Supervisor

Job Summary
The Specimen Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the phlebotomy, specimen processing, and send-out activities of the laboratory. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to develop and implement procedures to ensure efficient specimen collection and processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise assigned staff and maintain a staffing pattern to meet operational needs.
- Develop and implement procedures for specimen collection, processing, and send-out services.
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate specimen collection processes.
- Monitor work performance, identify training opportunities, and oversee training of assigned staff.
- Submit performance assessments to manager/director for approval.
- Attend meetings and participate in committees as assigned.
Requirements
5 years phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory with a High School Diploma/GED. Preferred education and experience include 3 years phlebotomy experience with an Associate or Bachelor degree in a biological science.
Certifications and Licenses
CLA certification in Nevada, PHLEB certification in California, and MAP certification in Washington. Other state licenses not required. Preferred certifications include Lab Assistant Program certification and Phlebotomy certificate.
Pay Range
