Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transfer Center Coordinator to join our team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As a key member of our clinical operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient transfer of patients between facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient scheduling needs for appointments and perioperative procedures.
  • Screen admissions for appropriateness of level of care orders and bed assignments.
  • Conduct Bed Control Meetings with Administrative Coordinator to explore expected patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Identify, trend, and report barriers to patient flow and throughput.
  • Direct the activity of EVS and transporters to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Technical Capabilities
  • Mentoring & Coaching: Train and mentor others to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • System Knowledge: Understand the operation and support of computer systems, network operations, and technical support.
  • Data Entry: Accurately and efficiently transcribe information from original sources into electronic systems.
  • Critical Thinking: Analyze and evaluate issues to form a judgment.
  • Documentation: Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant.

Position Qualifications
