The MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Oncology Advanced Practice Provider to join their team in providing exceptional care to pediatric patients. As a member of the Radiation Oncology department, you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of innovative treatment plans.

About the Job

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $115,000 - $173,000 per year, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program or a Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice. Prior experience as an APP in an inpatient setting or a minimum of two years clinical experience in an outpatient setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status.
  • Identify normal/abnormal health characteristics and handle physician calls related to patient care for the assigned service.
  • Perform clinical assessment and management for patients with no scheduled appointments, make appropriate referrals, and initiate clinical radiation treatment plans.
  • Develop and manage radiation clinical treatment plans, monitor outcomes, and initiate appropriate care.
  • Order consultations for ancillary services, diagnostic tests, and therapeutic procedures in accordance with institution and State of Texas requirements.
  • Maintain institutional and divisional compliance with radiation safety precautions and perform duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.
  • Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN or ACNP or ACNPC or ACAGNP or AGACNP or ACNPC-AG or AGACNP or AGNP or ACPNP or ANP or AGNP or AGPCNP or FNP or GNP or PNP or PMHNP or WHNP or APNP).
