Located in Louisville, Kentucky, we specialize in assisting utilities and independent power producers with the sustainable management and recycling of ash byproducts resulting from coal combustion in electricity generation. With over three decades of expertise, we also provide innovative solutions for ash pond management, landfill construction, fly ash sales, and structural fill projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents to determine labor, material, equipment, and time requirements.
  • Collect and summarize data and trends to generate accurate conceptual, schematic, and hard dollar estimates.
  • Take full responsibility for specific construction projects from pre-construction through to project closeout.
  • Oversee multiple contractors, manage their schedules, and maintain effective communication with clients and contractors.
  • Collaborate with state engineers, utility environmental teams, and independent engineering firms.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and thoroughly understand Charah Solutions' Standard Operating Procedures for construction management.
  • Lead readiness reviews as required for the project.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings and layouts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or upper management.
  • Demonstrate initiative in developing new procedures and approaches to challenges.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills with vendors, clients, and organizational leaders.
  • Maintain workflow efficiency and project timelines.
  • Foster interpersonal relationships that promote openness and trust within the organization.
  • Complete reports and projects accurately and on time.
  • Handle company information with confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. EIT or the ability to obtain PE registration is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in site/civil estimating for mass excavations, embankments, and material handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Project, along with familiarity with estimating software.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to utilize electronic communication devices effectively.
  • This role may require a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical capabilities include climbing, balancing, reaching, grasping, bending, and standing or sitting for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
