Art Educator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Art Teacher to join our team at Uncommon Schools Rochester Prep. As an Art Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive art program that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression in our students.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a rigorous and engaging art curriculum that aligns with state and national standards.
- Teach art classes to students in grades K-12, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and other mediums.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide art initiatives and projects.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in art education.
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field.
- Valid New York State teaching certification in Art Education.
- At least 1-2 years of experience teaching art in an urban school setting.
- Strong knowledge of art history, theory, and practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
