Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Art Teacher to join our team at Uncommon Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Art to students in grades K-12, designing and implementing a coherent and enriching Art program, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a high-quality education for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Art to students in grades K-12, Monday-Thursday each week of the school year
  • Design and implement a coherent and enriching Art program, including coordinating with outside providers and vendors
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a high-quality education for our students
  • Assist in the purchase and maintenance of the school's Art equipment
  • Provide orientation to all staff on the school's Art program during summer training
  • Participate in department meetings, faculty meetings, and other meetings
  • Meet the school's "Standards for Excellence in Art Instruction" and "Standards for Excellence in Instruction"
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5 or higher GPA during employment with us if you do not have a degree in education
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting students' social emotional and academic development
  • Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years experience preferred)
