Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Art Teacher to join our team at Uncommon Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Art to students in grades K-12, designing and implementing a coherent and enriching Art program, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a high-quality education for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Art to students in grades K-12, Monday-Thursday each week of the school year
- Design and implement a coherent and enriching Art program, including coordinating with outside providers and vendors
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a high-quality education for our students
- Assist in the purchase and maintenance of the school's Art equipment
- Provide orientation to all staff on the school's Art program during summer training
- Participate in department meetings, faculty meetings, and other meetings
- Meet the school's "Standards for Excellence in Art Instruction" and "Standards for Excellence in Instruction"
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 5 or higher GPA during employment with us if you do not have a degree in education
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting students' social emotional and academic development
- Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years experience preferred)
