About the Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector I to join our team in supporting power utility construction projects across the US. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the observation, monitoring, and documentation of construction work performed in the field, as well as coordinating material deliveries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Track and report project progress and status
  • Collaborate with owner, project management team, contractor management team, owner's engineer, and utilities
  • Perform and document job safety walks on a regular basis
  • Ensure adherence to client's Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs
  • Assist project staff in their duties as needed
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering or Construction Management or a minimum of 2 years of Comparable Field Experience
  • 2-3 years of related experience preferred
  • Experience working with electrical systems
  • Experience working with utility and/or renewable energy projects, preferably utility scale projects
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and construction specifications/manuals
  • Ability to read and understand construction and procurement contracts
  • Ability to read and understand project schedules and Gantt charts
  • Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with GIS database systems and applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict negotiation/resolution and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with owners' representatives, contractors, vendors, and others on and off the job site
  • Ability to work approximately 50%-75% in the field, including occasional night, weekends, and more than 40 hours per week
  • Authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
