Position Overview:
The Underwriting Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting underwriters with the solicitation of renewals and the preparation of renewal quotes. This position ensures that all documentation provided to agents is accurate and meets quality standards. The specialist reviews requests for policy modifications, facilitates the evaluation process for acceptance, declination, or changes, and meticulously enters all relevant data into the system to maintain data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently process new business submissions while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Complete underwriting applications with the necessary information to ensure the issuance of accurate and compliant policies.
  • Bind and issue both new and renewal commercial insurance policies, as well as process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
  • Manage notices of cancellation, non-renewal notifications, and renewal solicitation communications.
  • Identify and resolve booking and accounting discrepancies.
  • Engage effectively with management, underwriters, and brokers to gather essential information for accurate business processing.
  • Deliver prompt and efficient service to all internal and external stakeholders, including underwriters and brokers.
  • Generate and distribute routine and ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Participate in or manage special projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with various resources within the organization to drive continuous process improvement and innovation.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred BA/BS degree, with a focus on business or technology-related fields being advantageous.
Experience:
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in an office setting, preferably within the insurance sector, along with familiarity with core business systems and applications.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office Excel and Word is essential; knowledge of SQL is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to data integrity are crucial.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to uphold quality and productivity standards as set by management.
  • A collaborative mindset and a desire to foster teamwork in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced and evolving workplace.
