Job Title: Talent & Organizational Development Manager (TODM)

Agate Housing and Services is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to ending homelessness and relieving hunger through action and advocacy. We are seeking a highly skilled Talent & Organizational Development Manager (TODM) to join our team.

About the Role

The TODM will play a critical role in fostering a growth mindset across the agency, ensuring the organization attracts, supports, develops, and retains an exceptional and diverse team of productive and contributing team members. This role will design, deliver, and coordinate the delivery of professional development curricula that increases competence in role and strong results to best support Agate clients and all Agate Community Members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and sustain the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion plan and support an integrated strategy of learning and development to support a positive workplace culture for all Agate team members.
  • Lead new hire orientation sessions and support new hires in the earliest day of their employment to support strong onboarding and early performance and success in role.
  • Assist in rolling out curricula that will enhance competencies such as customer service, communication skills, best practices for managing a case management portfolio, time management, conflict management, management/leadership skills, diversity, equity, and inclusion, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and de-escalation, etc.
  • Assist in preparation and facilitation of the annual talent review process and maintenance of data related to organization-wide talent pipeline.
  • In partnership with Talent Leaders, review programmatic data and outcomes to ensure appropriate training and resources are being deployed to meet targeted needs of the organization.
  • Support the annual performance evaluation process and provide thought partnership to Talent Leaders on ongoing coaching and support to develop strong performance high collaborative work teams.
  • Manage special projects that engage all teams and departments within the agency with a goal of maintaining a healthy workplace culture and relationship with team members across the agency.
  • In partnership with the Deputy Director of Human Resources, assist with sustaining comprehensive curricula for learning and development programs for staff of all levels through all levels of the employee life cycle.
  • Ensure the Learning Management System (LMS) supports and facilitates the learning and development needs of Agate team members.
  • Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career pathing, annual performance appraisals, and consultation with talent leaders.
  • Collaborate with vendors, community partners, and other Agate members to effectively execute the accountabilities for this role.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 (five) years of professional experience, including at least three years of facilitation, instructional design, and public speaking.
  • Experience working in a large organization.
  • Ability to engage and impart knowledge both in person and online.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of matters related to housing and homelessness and group/team dynamics and ability to manage group/team dynamics.
  • Ability to make thoughtful, sound decisions, and effectively problem-solve in rapidly evolving situations.
  • Sound judgment and creative/effective problem-solving skills; thoughtfulness and attention to detail; self-reflective and strong work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including sensitivity to the wants, needs, and concerns of Community Members.
  • Exceptional oral, written, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with various communication methods and platforms and ability to determine impact based on situation and audience.
  • Previous Learning Management Systems (LMS) experience.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize demands while maintaining accuracy.
  • Sensitivity to and experience working with a diverse staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and pass a DHS NetStudy 2.0 background study and a driving record check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Instructional design or facilitation skills certification familiarity with behavioral assessments (e.g., MBTI, DiSC, Strengthfinders, etc.). Formal training in facilitation, instructional design, and differentiated learning methodologies.
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of professional development standards (i.e., assessing learning needs, learning styles, building curricula, distinguishing between teaching and presenting).
  • Experience with initiatives or programs that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, intersectionality, etc.
