Job Description

SICK, Inc. is a leading global provider of intelligent sensors, systems, and services for factory, logistics, and process automation applications. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Talent, Culture specialist.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in talent management, culture development, and human resources. As a Talent, Culture specialist, you will be involved in various projects, including supporting the annual employee engagement survey, developing communication materials, and assisting with talent management programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the employee survey process by preparing materials, documents, and tools to support the roll-out of survey results to the organization.
  • Assist with the development of communication materials, such as publications, intranet web page design, and other internal communication tools and content.
  • Support talent management programs and initiatives, including succession planning, key talent identification, performance management, and talent planning.
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and initiatives, including education, communication, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support other HR and organizational development initiatives and projects through creative thinking and problem-solving.
  • Work closely with the manager and a selected mentor to understand systems, processes, and key information.
  • Seek out information to learn how SICK operates as a business, including products, departments, and more.
  • Interface with other departments and interns to gain knowledge of the business, products, positions, and more.
  • Provide innovative recommendations on how SICK can improve.
  • Complete a final presentation at the close of the internship that outlines the involved project(s) and knowledge gained.
  • Provide feedback on the internship experience at the close of the internship.
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program within human resources, human resources development, or a related program.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.

Other Qualifications:

  • Human resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education/experiences and an interest in learning and developing HR and business skill sets a plus.
  • Ability to self-start and learn on the fly.
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Able to work in a general office environment.
