Job Summary

Premier Aquatics is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Childhood Aquatics Professional to join our team as an Infant and Child Aquatics Specialist. This role is responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment for children aged 0-4 years, focusing on developing child development milestones alongside learn-to-swim activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Delivery: Teach the Parent and Me program as prescribed by the curriculum, ensuring an educational, safe, and inviting experience for all participants.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Responsible for the safety of all program participants in group lessons, private lessons, and patrons on deck, adhering to Premier Aquatics' safety protocols.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Effectively communicate information promptly to the supervisor and maintain a high level of customer service to customers.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure that all rules and appropriate safety measures are stated, communicated, and carried out by all participants, and maintain a high level of cleanliness and order for the Swim Complex.
  • Professional Development: Attend quarterly in-service training programs and follow Premier Aquatics' dress code and code of conduct as stated in the Premier Employee handbook.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum Requirements: 2+ years' experience in child development programs or related fields, 4+ years' experience working with children aged 0-4 years, ability to obtain and maintain a StarGuard Elite Basic Life Support certification, and weekday morning and/or weekend availability.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with children with disabilities or adaptive learning needs, previous aquatics experience, Associate and/or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Child Psychology, and StarGuard Elite Lifeguard certification.
Physical and Environmental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, stoop, and crouch. The employee is frequently required to use their hands to feel, reach, and type. The employee is also required to swim, teach an average of 15 hours per week, and demonstrate teaching skills. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move equipment or a small or average size child up to 50 pounds.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. The environment also involves working in and around the pool which has a warm and humid atmosphere, and requires following specified safety precautions.
