Position: Environmental Health and Safety Manager

In the role of EHS Manager, you will oversee the health and safety protocols for our workforce, manage environmental permits and registrations, handle hazardous materials, and address workers' compensation claims. You will ensure compliance with EHS regulations and OSHA safety standards, interacting with various regulatory agencies. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be an integral part of the site management team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and engage with production staff, primarily within the manufacturing facility.
  • Maintain and ensure adherence to safety protocols including confined space entry, emergency response plans, hazardous communication, and other necessary programs.
  • Promote compliance with the organization's safety principles across all operations.
  • Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, and safety hazards.
  • Establish a schedule for safety meetings and guide managers in conducting safety briefings.
  • Provide training and updates to management on safety and environmental matters.
  • Facilitate safety and environmental orientation for new hires.
  • Manage the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database.
  • Keep records of safety training and workers' compensation claims for all personnel.
  • Document all incidents and near misses in the company database.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and fulfill all annual reporting requirements.
  • Stay informed on changes to OSHA regulations.
  • Advise on operational compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Oversee inventory management for safety and first aid supplies.
  • Coordinate annual hearing and fit testing with service providers.
  • Manage the workers' compensation program, including claims processing and record maintenance.
  • Administer programs for safety footwear and eyewear.
  • Be available for on-call support regarding safety issues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an EHS role (CSP, CIH certifications are advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Experience with environmental reporting (e.g., TRI, Tier II, Title V).
