Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Discussion Groups and Activities: Lead and participate in group discussions and activities designed to promote recovery and personal growth.
  • Monitor Patient Behavior: Observe and report on patient behavior, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Conduct Handbook Orientation: Provide new patients with a comprehensive orientation to our treatment program and policies.
  • Search Patient Belongings and Rooms: Conduct thorough searches of patient belongings, rooms, and persons as needed.
  • Liaise with Clinical Staff and Patients: Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and patients, ensuring open communication and addressing concerns.
  • Assist with Patient Assessment Forms: Help patients complete necessary assessment forms and documentation.
  • Assist with Phone Calls and Referrals: Support patients with phone calls to family members, friends, and referral sources.
  • Participate in Crisis Intervention: Respond to and assist in crisis situations as needed.
  • Transport Patients: Escort patients to meetings and appointments as required.
  • Document Patient Progress: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient involvement and progress.
  • Collect Urine Samples and Complete Paperwork: Collect urine samples and complete necessary paperwork for drug screening.
  • Provide Post-Discharge Support: Offer support and referrals to patients after discharge, under the guidance of a therapist.
  • Monitor Medication and Nutrition: Assist with monitoring medication taken by clients and documenting accordingly, if applicable.
  • Manage Gift Shop and Nutrition: Oversee the gift shop and manage nutrition needs, if applicable.
  • Manage Donations and Patient Requests: Coordinate donations and patient requests, if applicable to the location.
  • Monitor Smoke Breaks: Supervise smoke breaks in the hospital setting, if applicable.
  • Complete Intake Paperwork: Assist with completing intake paperwork as needed.
  • Monitor Clients' ADLs: Observe and report on clients' Activities of Daily Living, including chores, behaviors, and grooming issues.
  • Remain On-Duty: Remain on duty until relieved by a colleague.
  • Attend Mandatory Trainings: Participate in mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Requirements
  • Some College Education: Preferably some college education.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • PA Criminal History Record Check: Pass a PA Criminal History Record Check.
  • PA or State Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances: Obtain PA or a State Child Abuse and FBI fingerprinting clearances.
  • CPR/First Aid Training: Obtain CPR/First Aid training.
  • Pass Drug Screen: Pass a drug screen.
  • TB Testing: Undergo TB testing.
  • Mandatory Staffing Coverage: Be available for mandatory staffing coverage when necessary to provide a safe treatment environment.
  • Remain Awake and Alert: Remain awake and alert while on duty.
  • Recovery Experience: If living a life of recovery, must attest to at least 18 months in recovery from substance use disorder.
