Gateway Rehab is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate PRN Treatment Support Technician 2 to join our team in Waynesburg, PA. As a key member of our treatment team, you will play a vital role in facilitating programming and ensuring the integrity of the therapeutic milieu.
Responsibilities:- Facilitate discussion groups and activities to promote patient engagement and participation.
- Monitor patient behavior and provide support to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Conduct handbook orientations and provide clear instructions to patients.
- Conduct searches of patient belongings, rooms, and persons to maintain a secure environment.
- Act as a liaison between clinical staff and patients to facilitate communication and support.
- Assist patients in completing patient assessment forms and provide guidance as needed.
- Assist with phone calls to family members, friends, and referral sources to provide support and information.
- Assist with crisis intervention and provide emotional support to patients.
- Transport patients to meetings and appointments as necessary.
- Document patient interactions and progress in progress notes.
- Collect urine samples and complete paperwork for drug screening as required.
- Provide post-discharge contacts and referrals under therapist direction.
- Monitor medication taken by clients and document accordingly, if applicable.
- Work in the gift shop, manage menu and nutrition needs, and manage donation and patient requests, if applicable.
- Monitor smoke breaks in the hospital setting, if applicable.
- Complete intake paperwork as needed.
- Monitor clients' ADLs, including chores, behaviors, and grooming issues.
- Remain on duty until relieved.
- Attend mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Some college preferred.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Pass a PA Criminal History Record Check.
- Obtain PA or a State Child Abuse and FBI fingerprinting clearances.
- Obtain CPR/First Aid training.
- Pass Drug Screen.
- TB Testing.
- This position requires mandatory staffing coverage when necessary to provide a safe treatment environment for Gateway residents.
- Required to remain awake and alert while on duty.
- If living a life of recovery, must attest to at least 18 months in recovery from substance use disorder.
- Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center.
- Favorable working conditions.
- Minimal physical demand.
- Moderate mental demands to respond to patients' simultaneous requests.
