Editorial Content Specialist

The University of Georgia is seeking a highly skilled Editorial Content Specialist to join its Marketing & Communications team. This role will be responsible for creating and editing engaging content for various platforms, including print, social media, and web.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement editorial strategies to align with content marketing and communications efforts across the division.
- Write and edit content for multiple outlets, including news releases, feature stories, and marketing copy.
- Collaborate with colleagues across campus to coordinate and prioritize content development and promotion.
- Provide editorial guidance to writers and ensure consistency in style and branding.
- Manage the Asana editorial calendar for the Integrated Media Relations team and respond to story submissions and questions from across the university.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as journalism, communications, or English.
- 2-3 years of professional experience in journalism, editing, writing, or a related field.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong sense of news value and AP style.
- Proven ability to develop, plan, execute, and evaluate projects effectively using a project management tool like Asana.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working in higher education or a related field.
- Knowledge of research and feature writing in an academic setting.
- Magazine and email newsletter publishing experience.
