Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Specialist to join our team at the Institute for Comm Living. As a Peer Specialist, you will serve as a role model and support individuals in achieving their recovery goals.

About the Role:

The Peer Specialist will provide supportive counseling, education, and advocacy services to assigned individuals. You will work closely with recipients to develop and maintain viable living, working, and social situations in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Counsel and assist recipients in maintaining independent living skills
  • Educate recipients about self-help techniques and group processes
  • Teach effective coping strategies based on personal experience
  • Assist in clarifying rehabilitation and recovery goals
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate individual case records

Requirements:

  • Provisional certification as an OMH Certified Peer Specialist (minimum)
  • Full certification as OMH Certified Peer Specialist (preferred)

Salary: Estimated salary is $43,100 per year, depending on location and experience.
